Virtual Harlem

Virtual Harlem is an ongoing project I worked on with Dr. Bryan Carter, a professor of Africana studies at the University of Arizona. I worked with a team to bring enhancements to Virtual Harlem, which is a virtual recreation of Harlem, NY, as it was during the Harlem Renaissance. For my part, I created the graphics below, which were used as assets for collectibles within the virtual world. Focused on Marcus Garvey, the goal was to create newspapers that mimic the papers of the times while also providing a legible, central focus, so that players would be able to read these papers without strain.
